Power of Attorney Signatures

Just a reminder, when a Power of Attorney (POA) is used to sign for a customer on the signature line, the NTX audit team will accept the dealership’s signature followed by POA; however, on the printed line, we need the name of the person the agent is signing for (i.e. titled owner), followed by the name of the agent who is signing via POA. See the example below:

Commenting on “Complete” NTX Transactions

Please know that once a transaction is showing Completed in Vitu, if you comment on the transaction, the auditor will not receive a notification of a comment and it could be missed. If you are checking on progress of the title, or if you need to change mailing address after it is showing complete, the quickest way to receive a response would be to email ntxsupport@vitu.com or call NTX support at 406-418-9800.

Motor Vehicle Record Dates

Just a reminder that Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) must be run within 5 business days of when the transaction is approved and submitted to the state. If a transaction is audited and an error is found, you may be asked to run a new MVR due to the fact that when the transaction will be approved, it will be over that 5 business days mark. This is a state regulation to ensure that we have not only the most current information, but nothing has changed on that record in that time frame. 

Repossessions

Per Montana regulations, in order to process a vehicle that has been repossessed as part of the chain of ownership/transfer, we have to ensure a couple items are followed on the accompanied repossession affidavits.

• The repossession affidavit must be from one of the three following states:
  
  • State of Title
  • State of the lienholder (determined from the address of the lienholder on the title)
  • State of Montana Repossession Affidavit
• The lienholder that is completing the affidavit is secured on the state title/MVR being provided
• The name of the person the vehicle is being repossessed from matches the titled owner
• Finally, when the repossessing financial institution sells the vehicle, the name of the financial institution accompanies the signatures. This way we are able to tie that repossession into the sale(s) of the vehicle 

POA Granting Agent Permission

If your dealership has a POA on file for lienholders or other dealers that grants “agent” signing ability, please do not submit these with the transaction. Since your dealership is signing as an “agent,” we do not require the document.
