Lien Placement transactions

The Kansas House Bill 2122 that took effect on January 1, 2026 amended law regarding registration fees of trucks, truck tractors, and electric and hybrid vehicles.

Increased vehicle registration fees

• Electric hybrid vehicles — from $50 to $70
• Plug-in electric hybrid vehicles — from $50 to $100
• All-electric vehicles — from $100 to $165

Three new categories of annual license fees created

• All-electric motorcycles — $30
• Electric hybrid or plug-in electric hybrid truck or truck tractor with a gross weight of 12,000 pounds or less — $125
• All-electric truck or truck tractor with a gross weight of 12,000 pounds or less — $200

Duplicate Title and Lien Placement transactions

For Duplicate Title and Lien Placement (DUP/LP) transactions, Missouri increased their fees. Transactions now require an additional $9.00 processing fee. 

Updated transaction fees

• Duplicate and Lien Placement (same time) — $35.50
• Lien Placement — $26.50
• Duplicate Title — $17.50

All transactions for this state

New Hampshire increased title and registration fees effective January 1, 2026. 

Updated new title fees

• Title Fee — $35
• Duplicate Title — $35

Lien Placement — $20 (no change)

Duplicate Title and Lien Placement transactions

Ohio House Bill 96 took effect on January 1, 2026, which increased title fees.

• The state title fee increased by $3, from $15 to $18
• Counties were allowed to add an additional $5 fee, potentially bringing the total to $23. 

Current base transaction fees in Ohio

• Duplicate — $18
• Lien Placement — $18
• DUP/LP (for ELT) — $18
• DUP/LP (for Paper Title) — $33

Note: Clinton County will not be collecting the additional $5 fee.

Duplicate Title and Lien Placement transactions

Previously, we were notified of fee increases taking place in Oregon, pending a petition to push the fee increases to a public vote in November, 2026.

A majority of the fee increases were pushed to the public vote in November, 2026 with a small set of exceptions for fees related to vehicles that get over 40 MPG or are all electric.

Vehicle registration fees

• 2-Year Passenger MPG 40+ — $216 
• 2-Year Passenger Electric — $376
• 4-Year Passenger MPG 40+ — $432
• 4-Year Passenger Electric — $752

Duplicate Title and Lien Placement transactions

The Washington House Bill 5801 that went into effect on January 1, 2026 increased title and registration fees in Washington.

Title and Registration Service Fees

• Increases the $15.00 title fee to $18.00 
• Increases the $8.00 registration service fee to $11.00

Filing Fees

• Increases the $4.50 registration filing fee to $6.00 
• Increases the $5.50 title filing fee to $6.50
