Occasionally, NMVTIS communicates directly with a state system and flags a specific VIN. These flags are internal messages exchanged between NMVTIS and the state, and they do not appear on the NMVTIS report generated within the transaction. When a flag is present in the state system, the transaction is routed to a manual review process by the state.

To improve transparency, we added a new error status that will notify you when this occurs.

  • Impacted transactions will be placed in a State Review status in Vitu until MVD staff manually reviews and updates the transaction.
  • Transactions in State Review automatically expire if no action is taken by MVD staff within 90 days.
  • If the state approves the NMVTIS report, the transaction moves to Completed status.
  • If the state denies the NMVTIS status, the transaction moves to Canceled status.

Note:  The color of the State Review status badge of an error varies depending on whether you are in Vehicle Services or Title Management.

There are a few states that require a manual request to receive their MVRs. In the past, you had to pause your transaction to email support. 

Now with Vitu NTX, you will see these states listed in the State dropdown with the words Manual Request next to the state’s name. Selecting this triggers an automated email to support so you don’t have to — Vitu does it for you. You will be copied on the email, and a member of the support team will reply to the email with the same information you received all along. 

The manual MVR states are still the same and listed below. 

In cases where you submit a NTX transaction to audit but for whatever reason you no longer need the new title, please refrain from commenting in the Communication tab requesting the cancellation. The best practice is to reach out to ntxsupport@vitu.com to request the transaction be canceled. Support is available 24/7 to assist, and emailing support prevents messages from being missed or posted while the deal is being worked on. If the auditor approves the transaction prior to seeing the comment, then the cancellation involves a manual process with MVD and a $120.30 fee to perform the request. 

Please be sure to read the full message from auditors to ensure you correct all items listed. If you are unsure about the errors notated, please reach out to ntxsupport@vitu.com and we will assist in clarifying the corrections needed. The NTX team wants to get you the title as quickly as possible so this will help avoid delays caused by the audit ticket being set to issue found multiple times — which restarts the wait time for audit review.
