For this reason, we always recommend contacting the lienholder directly to confirm the most up-to-date details. If a state provides lienholder information publicly, we will be happy to direct you to the appropriate resource on the state-specific checklist.

States that enforce late fee penalties include a disclosure on page 2 of the Vitu Fee Quote. Please note that billing is not paused for the fees listed, and the state will continue processing them without approval.
Please be sure to review the Fee Quote carefully so you know what to expect and can plan accordingly.

We’ve enhanced our system to make shipping to the final destination smoother and more reliable. When sending work to service or shipping to the final destination, Vitu Interstate will now automatically validate your selected delivery method. If a shipping option isn’t supported by the mail carrier, you’ll be notified before submitting the deal to Vitu and provided guidance to select an eligible method — helping prevent delays and rework.
What’s new?
- Real-time alerts when a selected shipping method can’t deliver to the final destination
- The ability to update the final destination shipping label while the deal is in process — either with Vitu or at the DMV
- Fewer shipping errors and faster processing overall


You can now update the final destination for paperwork directly in Vitu Interstate — even after submission! No more requests through the Communication tab or phone calls. Updating the final destination address is now faster and easier.

In our efforts to provide best-in-class tools and functionality, we are hard at work developing and implementing improved Tax and Fee estimators within Vitu Interstate. These enhanced calculators incorporate both current tax and fee rates, but also new and improved functionality, including:
- Reciprocity — Where your dealership will see credit for taxes paid within the selling state
- Exemptions — What special scenarios provide registrants with tax/fee exemptions
- Late Fees — Incorporation of any late fee/penalty situations

For our dealers, all of this is being built behind the scenes in Interstate, which means the improved fee estimations require no special training or implementation. As of December 2025, Vitu released these enhanced calculators for the following states:
- Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia
Minnesota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming are set to release this month, and additional states are planned for release through Q2 of 2026.
