Search results now appear sooner and with improved accuracy by focusing on the most relevant matches. Start your search from the beginning of a name or term (e.g., “Greg” for Gregory). This locates all transactions that include that name or term.
For VIN lookups, we’ve made things even more reliable! Since multiple vehicles can share the same last 6 digits, using the full VIN ensures you get a single, exact match every time. Just copy and paste the complete VIN into the search bar and watch your transaction appear instantly.

To ensure you get the best experience with Vitu Interstate, we recommend following these tips:
- Use the Dynamic Checklist — remember, Dynamic Checklists are unique to each specific deal. It’s the best tool for you to check off what documents and items need to be included in any submission (see Vitu checklists and merged documents below).
- Send the deal to us as soon as possible — this goes for pre-audit and final submissions. The sooner you get a deal to us, the sooner we can get it processed and it helps avoid any state late penalties. Many states impose late penalties based on the date that the vehicle was sold.
- Use NTX when you don’t already have the title — if you are waiting for a title on a vehicle, consider using Vitu’s NTX (National Title Exchange) solution. With NTX, you can obtain a title in hand in three business days or less.

Once a “Fees Only” or “Forms and Fees” transaction is initiated, Vitu allows a 90-day grace period so you, the dealer, can either Submit Pre-Audit or Complete Manually. If the transaction remains in Completed status, Vitu automatically bills via ACH for services rendered after 90 days and sends an invoice out on the 91st day. Once this occurs, the transaction is no longer active, cannot be edited and the Communication tab will close.
If you intend to keep the transaction open to continue processing after 90 days, please submit your deal for pre-audit, even if you are still working to obtain the necessary requirements for processing. This allows our audit teams to provide you with valuable feedback to get the transaction approved and ready to Send to Service.
If you are submitting a “Forms and Fees” transaction and plan to complete the registration and title work on your own, please indicate this by choosing the Complete Manually option. To do so, click the dropdown arrow next to Submit Pre-Audit and click Complete Manually. The transaction will automatically bill via ACH for services rendered and send out an invoice on the next business day.



For every deal entered into Vitu Interstate, a unique, dynamic checklist is produced based on the information entered into the Deal Information screen. The checklist is compiled of necessary documents to be provided to ensure a successful transaction.

The second page of the checklist contains additional information, such as penalty fees, reciprocity agreements, and state-specific information such as digital signature acceptance.

You are also provided a merged document file containing the Dynamic Checklist for your deal, the fee quote, forms, and informational pages. Using both your checklist and merged document file will guide you through obtaining everything needed to complete a successful title and registration process for your buyer.

In our ongoing efforts to provide best-in-class tools and functionality, we continue developing and implementing improved Tax and Fee estimators within Vitu Interstate.

Fee Calculations for Iowa
When calculating the sales tax and fees for Iowa, you will see a banner that reads:
For accurate MSRP (List Price) please visit Calculate Your Transfer Fee / Credit | lowa Tax And Tags. Click Calculate your Transfer Fee/Credit. Select Tools > Dealer Inquiry > Weight and List Price Calculator. Enter the vehicle specifics, and click Calculate.
Entering the vehicle specifics will ensure that the MSRP entered matches the amount that the state is using to calculate the tax.
