When processing title work for a used vehicle, the MVA (Motor Vehicle Administration) requires information from the previous title, such as:

• Document Issue Date — The date the title was printed 

• Ownership Document Jurisdiction — The jurisdiction where the vehicle was titled 
• Document Number — The previous title number

This information is then sent to the MVA where it is matched with the information NMVTIS has on file. If the information is entered incorrectly, it can cause an NMVTIS hold, which may result in a transaction error until you, the dealer, call the MVA’s NMVTIS department at 410-768-7272 to resolve the issue.

With 14 years under his belt with the company and over 30 years experience in the automotive industry, Trent Thames is Senior Operations Manager for Maryland Vitu. Beginning his career as a Service Advisor, he quickly advanced to Service Director at Saturn. Outside the office, Trent finds himself in his element on the basketball court, mentoring athletes as a coach and skills trainer. Deeply devoted to his family, Trent is happily married to an encouraging woman and they raise three children together. “My wife of 24 years inspired me after being diagnosed with leukemia in 2016,” he said. “She met the news with courage, never once asking, ‘Why me?’” Their kids were still young at the time, and instead of retreating, she leaned in. Trent was impressed, saying “she reminds me every day that our time is precious and that the way we show up for others matters more than anything else.”
