The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) released two new special plates this month — the Blackout plate and the Retro Yellow plate. In addition to being offered online at wisconsindmv.gov/specialplates and at DMV Service Centers, they will be available from participating dealerships and third-party processors.
Dealerships and third-party processors interested in holding stock of Blackout and Retro Yellow plates may begin placing orders very soon. Keep an eye out for a Message of the Day for more details on how to order.
Please keep in mind that the process for a customer requesting a personalized plate remains the same for special plates — the customer will be issued a temporary plate, and the personalized plate will be mailed directly from DMV.
