The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has recently discovered that they cannot correctly process E-Title transactions where the previous lienholder participates in their Electronic Lien and Title program.
Going forward, while you can still use E-Title for transactions without having the paper title in hand, our audit department will reject paperwork until the electronic lien has been released. We are in the process of adding a flag to the MVR that indicates whether or not the lien is electronic. We anticipate that it will look something like this:
Vitu Support will monitor those rejected transactions and will let you know when it is ok to resubmit. It is important that the lienholder understands that they need to release their lien as they normally would, even though they may have sent a lien release letter to you.
This new process only applies to those transactions where the previous title has an unreleased electronic lien.
Transactions where the previous title has no lien or that have lienholders that are not ELT will not be affected and can be processed normally.
