The DMV has updated the Vehicle Title & Registration Handbook to clarify how errors on the VIN Inspection Form (735-11) must be handled. If you make a mistake in the following sections on Form 735-11, follow the attached guidance:
- VIN Inspection section: The form must be redone in full.
- Vehicle description (excluding the VIN), owner section, or any other area: You must provide an explanation of the correction or alteration on partner letterhead.
Corrections made to the VIN Inspection section or allowed corrections missing a required statement will be marked as critical errors.
