And that cartoon above is a real person, our very own Nyssa Frazer-Shaw — for Vitu North Carolina.

With over a decade of experience in the automotive technology industry, Nyssa Frazer-Shaw has built a reputation for resilience, leadership, and compassion. This year, after Vitu acquired the Dealertrack Registration & Titling Businesses earlier this year (more info, here), she is currently serving as General Manager for Vitu’s North Carolina operations. Nyssa’s career began as an Accounts Payable Clerk. Her consistent drive and adaptability led to promotions as Payroll Manager, Staff Accountant, and eventually oversight of multi-state operations in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Illinois, and Indiana. “Now that we’re all here at Vitu,” she said, “I’ll be celebrating my 11th year in October.” Her career has been marked by steady growth and dedication — building on her experience in auditing, she steadily advanced through positions of increasing responsibility including Lead Business Service Specialist, Supervisor, and Manager culminating in her current leadership role.

Beyond the office, Nyssa’s world revolves around family and faith. Married with three adult children, a stepson, and seven grandchildren, she beams with pride in her role as Nana. “They are my world,” she says warmly. Active in both her church and community, Nyssa’s personal life is filled with joy, tradition, and a few fun quirks. “I was born in Jamaica, but my favorite season is winter — the colder the better!” She’s also the reigning Scattergories champion in her family, and quipped, “I’d rather mow the lawn than cook, and my favorite time to work out at the gym is 12 midnight.”

Nyssa’s personal philosophy is guided by faith and the values instilled by her maternal grandfather, “Papa,” who remains her greatest inspiration. “He never learned to read or write, but he taught me the value of education and character. One of his sayings was, ‘They can take a lot from you, but no one can take away knowledge,’” she said. She lives by principles of empathy, and grace: “Honesty is paramount, trust is earned, and let your integrity guide the decisions you make.”

DMV document upload

Easily upload documents directly to the state.

We are so excited to announce that document uploads to the state is now available and is being rolled out to our clients, to be completed by mid July! Thank you to all of our clients for your patience and enthusiasm! This new feature enables you to process and upload your documents to the state without needing to send the physical paperwork.

One common question we receive is: “How long do we keep the originals, particularly the title?” The title itself should be retained with the original deal documents as all paperwork must be kept, whether digitally or physically for four years — except for the odometer statement, which must be retained, digitally or physically, for five years.

Recapping for you:

  • Physical paperwork retention, including the title, is 30 days
  • Electronic images for 5 years

You can click the link below to view the document on paperwork retention the DMV recommended to us; please feel free to print it for reference:

If you have not taken the course, please look in your Notifications for the NC TC Certification Course registration and pick a time that works for you. This is a mandate from the DMV and must be completed — your assistance with this is appreciated.
