Yes, it’s true! If you have a customer who has a specialty plate and doesn’t want to give it up because they are buying a weighted vehicle, no worries — they don’t have to!

The weight will be calculated accordingly. Please know that plates have fees that are tied to the weight of the vehicle. Specialty plates have weights that accommodate 4,000-26,000 pounds without having to change the type of plate. The calculation is tied directly to the weight of the vehicle and is assessed when registration is renewed.

We know you have questions about scanning documents. Here are the answers for two common questions, plus the scanning icon resolution.

Voids

Q: How long do I have to void a transaction?
A: You have two business days, including the date of processing, to void a transaction.

Example:  If you process a transaction on a Monday, you would have until Tuesday EOB to void it.

Document retention

Q: How long do I have to retain the physical documents?
A: DMV confirmed that you must keep the physical documents on site for 30 days. Please consult with your management regarding what you are to do with those documents after that time.

Q: The scanning icon is missing. How do I get it back?
A: Perform a hard refresh from the Logbook screen by using the CTRL+F5 keys and that should resolve the issue.
