Vitu handles lots of vehicle types. We’re spotlighting three recreational vehicle (RV) categories: Campers, (Travel) Trailers and Motorhomes. Follow our step-by-step guide to breeze through each process and make sure your customers get the right plates the first time.

Camper

Also known as a truck camper, slide-in camper or cabover camper — refers to any recreational vehicle or RV that may be mounted to a motor vehicle but not permanently attached. Although they do not operate on their own, they do get title and licenses in Oregon.

Trailer

Specifically, travel trailer, which is a recreational vehicle for habitation that can be towed by a vehicle but does not operate under its own power.

Motorhome

Also known as coach, it is a self propelled RV where the driving and living spaces are integrated into one unit and built for human habitation.

If you’re receiving error messages in Vitu related to a customer’s address, here are some common issues and tools to help resolve them:

Common Issues

• Incorrect directional indicators: Example – if the address is listed as SE when it should be SW, the system will not recognize it.
• County or ZIP code mismatches: Vitu may flag the address as invalid if the ZIP code does not match the county.
• Unrecognized or new addresses: Sometimes newly built homes or apartments may not yet be recognized by USPS.

1. USPS Address Lookup
   Use this tool to verify an address if you are receiving errors such as:
   
   • “Invalid address”
   • Incorrect county messages
   • ZIP code mismatches‍

2. Google Maps
   A quick way to confirm if an address is real and not a PO Box or drop box.
   
   • Helpful for verifying new construction addresses not yet in USPS.‍
