Senior Director of Operations, Kelly Raines has been at Vitu for almost 10 years, overseeing operations for Montana, Idaho and NTX. Prior to joining Vitu, Kelly worked as a nurse before moving into processing title transactions at the Oregon DMV. After a few years at the DMV, she transitioned to Vitu as an auditor in the Oregon office and has continued to advance her career.

Much like her previous career as a nurse, Kelly often faces multiple challenges at once and must prioritize what needs her attention first. She does so by staying organized, accurate, detail oriented, strategic, and thorough. In her words, “Every day is different, so I have to be flexible and pivot as needed and the decisions I make also have real life consequences. I’m still helping people — just in a different manner. For our customers, I’m leading solutions that are reducing fraud, expediting the title issuance process, and revolutionizing the market via E-Title.”

A self-described nerd, Kelly is an avid reader and enjoys movies and video games like Halo and Mario Kart. She also loves traveling with her husband and daughter, aiming to take a trip overseas each year. Over the past year she has become “addicted” to Formula 1, spending most weekends during the race season rooting for her favorite driver.

Kelly tries to live life by the words of the great Dolly Parton, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” To her that means being unapologetically herself and living and working with self-awareness — understanding her beliefs, values, and passions, and recognizing that the choices she makes impact the people around her.

Please remember that if you have a sale unwind after you have marked the transaction in the system as sold, you will need to VOID the transaction rather than just substitute the new owner into the transaction. Not following this process will result in delays when the title paperwork is submitted. Don’t forget that when you see a status of Issue Found for a transaction, it needs your attention. The paperwork will not be forwarded to the state until all issues are resolved. You could potentially miss the 30-day deadline for title issuance if you ignore these reminders.
