Here are some helpful tips and tricks to ensure your title and registration processing stays on track. First, be sure to process translations by date order from oldest to newest. Next, prepare for processing and scanning using the helpful tips below.

Prepare paperwork before scanning

1. Place documents behind the separator sheet (bar code sheets) and in the proper order as indicated in the sections below.
2. Keep an eye on the top of the separator sheet to make sure the documents match.
3. When prepping your work, look out for carbon copies and folded pages.
4. Both sides of each document must be scanned even if one side of the document is blank.

Place documents in the correct order before scanning as outlined below:

Retail transactions should be in this order:

1. Regular separator sheet 
2. Title application (MVR-1) 
3. Bill of Sale 
4. Odometer statement (MVR-180)  
5. Damage disclosure (MVR-181)  
6. Any assignments 
7. POA  
8. Copy of all DLs 
9. Title/MCO 

Leased Vehicle transactions should be in this order:

1. Registration separator sheet 
2. MVR-330 
3. Copy of Driver’s license
4. Non-Resident’s affidavit of intent to title vehicle in NC (MVR-614), if applicable
